Banner Advertising
Banner and HTML advertising
Adverts can be images (banners) or simply blocks of text (HTML). Regardless of the type, the advertiser has two options - pay a fixed amount for a fixed period, or operate on a "Pay Per Click" basis, where they pay on results. The advertiser agrees a payment for each viewer who clicks on the advert and lands on his site - so if the advert does not work and nobody lands on his site, the advertiser pays nothing. The advertiser bears no financial risk - so is more likely to agree to advertise.
You can place banner or HTML (text-linked) adverts on any page on your site. Banners can be any size - provided they fit on the page. You can choose which pages it appears on and where it sits on the page. You could even allow a particular business to sponsor specific content - e.g. videos. HTML adverts can be single words, phrases or whole paragraphs.
If your advertiser selects the Pay per Click route, a full reporting system is in place. Click through and impression data is collected and an email reporting system is also available to advise how many clicks and impressions the banner advertisement has enjoyed in a particular period.
