XML Site Mapping

Making sure the search engines see you!

An XML site is a file in XML format that meets the recognised XML site map standard and is accepted by Google, Bing, MSN, and Yahoo. Your site will automatically create and maintain a compliant XML site map and submit it to the search engines when content is updated.

XML site mapping was devised by Google to cope with sites that have a large number of dynamic pages and the sitemap files can then be used to indicate to a web crawler how such pages can be found. Google, Bing, Yahoo and Ask now jointly support the Sitemaps protocol.

Since MSN, Yahoo, Ask, and Google use the same protocol, having a Sitemap lets the four biggest search engines have the updated page information. Certainly, a Sitemap is still the best insurance for getting a search engine to learn about your entire site.

XML Sitemaps have replaced the older method of "submitting to search engines" by filling out a form on the search engine's submission page.

Your site will be registered with the major search engines.

When we configure your site with its own unique Google Analytics account we will also complete the site registration process for you, obtaining a unique authentication key with each major search engine and ensuring the site is properly registred with them.

The XML site map file for your site is automatically submitted to the major search engines at regular intervals as well as being
available for the Search engines to download at any time.
